As anybody knows, the moment I started playing Fallout 3 was reminiscent of that day in 1996 when I loaded Quake for the first time. With over 3,000 hours and nine different characters, Fallout 3 was my addiction. And when Fallout: New Vegas was announced, I was on my way to GameStop to place my pre-order.
So it should come as no surprise to anybody that when I see something about a possible Fallout 4, I am jumping on it. Today is no different.

In development since January 2011, the development team includes coders who were working on Skyrim. Expected to be released in October 2015, we’ll see the official announcement sometime before 2014’s E3. Apparently, the game is more than half done (55%), it will release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, the upcoming PlayStation 4 & Xbox One consoles and the game will take place in Boston and the surrounding area. The rumor also includes a hint at local co-op but no multiplayer.
To add substance to this rumor, Back in January, Fallout 3 voice actor Erik Dellums hinted via Twitter that his character, Three Dog, would be returning in Fallout 4 and Jonah Falcon, an Editor at Strategy Informer states he “can neither confirm nor deny that rumor.”
If, and I stress IF, this rumor has any basis of fact, I am excited. My only reservation is in the setting. Honestly, I feel like Boston is too close to the Capital Wasteland of Fallout 3. With Fallout & Fallout 2 being PC games, I personally would like to see Fallout 4 centered around their locations. Let me pick up my controller and fight some Super Mutants for control of the Rose Garden or fight alongside the Brotherhood for the Space Needle. Or even trying to cross an Enclave controlled Golden Gate Bridge.
Regardless of the setting, I am looking forward to playing Fallout 4, as long as it lives up to the quality that is Fallout 3 (for the love of all that is holy Bethesda, no more crap like Rage and Brink).
