Jedi And Sith Princesses

After yesterday’s Geriatric Cartoons Will Make You Laugh And Cry post, I started surfing DeviantArt.com. As I looked at some really amazing art, I felt wave after wave of nostalgia from my days of drawing.

Remembering my own art reminded of my Aunt Diana, the one person in my life I never felt judgement from when I screwed up. All she ever wanted to talk about was my drawing. “Did you bring your portfolio?” she’d ask when we went to Elko. Unfortunately, my aunt passed away in 1999 and so did my art. I’ve tried a couple of times to pick it back up, but the talent or maybe just the desire to draw isn’t there any more. I’ve had some people suggest honoring her by drawing again; however, I named my youngest daughter after her, and I think that is honoring my aunt perfectly. Any way, enough being sappy about the past, let’s get to the point of this post.

While surfing DeviantArt, I came across the portfolio of Ralph Sevelius, an artist from Atlanta, Georgia. What struck me was not just his talent, but a particular set of illustrations. Sevelius has combined a handful of Disney Princesses with Star Wars, creating some pretty badass girls!
