PlayStation Playing Catch Up

I love my Xbox One. Unlike most “haters,” and even though I’m part of the Preview Program and get early access to beta features, I haven’t had any problems with it. Not to say I am a fanboy or anything, I just enjoy the Xbox a lot more than I do my PlayStation 3.

However. it was almost nerdgasmic for me when Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony Worldwide Studios tweeted that Sony is trying to play catch-up with Microsoft by working on a Remote Play function, allowing PlayStation gamers to stream their games to PC and Macs, something I’ve been doing on my Xbox One for a little while now (November 12 for those of you not in the Preview Program).

Some people asked if we plan to provide Remote Play function to PC, and yes, we are indeed working on an official application for PC/Mac. 😀 — Shuhei Yoshida (@yosp) November 27, 2015

Currently, Remote Play only allows you to stream your PlayStation 4 games to a PlayStation Vita (epic fail device), so the ability to stream to a PC or Mac on your home network is just Sony’s attempt to make the PlayStation 4 mimic Microsoft’s vision of a unified gaming experience.

Keep wishing you could marry your PlayStation, sony fanboys; you are months behind the rest of us Xbox One gamers, kind of like how iPhone users are months behind Android users.
