Yesterday was the one month mark since the release of Fallout 4 (it was also DOOM’s 22nd birthday) and you’d think by now, I’d have published my review of it. Well, after cleansing the Commonwealth for more than 200 hours (7 Main Quests completed, 2,752 kills, 16 Bobbelheads collected and a sweet little homestead on Spectacle Island), I’m just not ready to stop playing long enough to write a review.
That being said, I can’t help but report on ZeniMax Media news. Seriously, ZeniMax Media is becoming a behemoth in the gaming industry. Firstly, ZeniMax is the parent company of Bethesda Game Studios, id Software, Arkane Studios, and MachineGames, to name a few. Some of the more notable games these development studios are responsible for are The Elder Scrolls series, Fallout 3 and 4, the upcoming DOOM reboot, Wolfenstein: The New Order & The Old Blood.
Well, it seems Bethesda Game Studios has opened a NEW development office in Montreal, Quebec. This studio will help the company expand its development capabilities “in console, PC, and mobile gaming.”
“We’ve worked with some very talented developers in Montreal for a long time, and decided it was time to open a studio there,” said Game Director and Executive Producer at Bethesda Game Studios, Todd Howard, “It’s exciting to think about the new games we’ll be building together.”
I for one am beyond excited to see what games come out of the ZeniMax Media pipeline over the next couple of years!
