A Biography of Jay Bishop

Jay Bishop

I’m a proud 51-year-old geek, residing in the vibrant city of Portland, Oregon. My passions are as diverse as they come, and I love diving into various subjects on my blog. From geeky obsessions to my general thoughts and confessions, it’s all fair game.

One of my passions is “Star Wars,” and if you’ve visited TheCli3nt.com, you’re probably familiar with my deep love for the iconic bounty hunter, Boba Fett. These movies have always held a special place in my heart.

When I’m not traversing distant galaxies, I’m fully immersed in the tech realm. Computer software, server hardware, and Ubuntu Linux hold a sacred spot in my tech-loving heart. I’ve even elevated my game by constructing a home media sanctuary complete with a server, allowing me to achieve a cinematic experience that rivals the real deal. Yep, you won’t catch me in traditional theaters anytime soon.

I’m a dedicated gamer, with a special fondness for the Fallout series, the high-octane action of the Quake series, and the boundless creativity of Minecraft. But my gaming interests don’t stop there; reviewing video games and gaming gear is a passion of mine, and it’s always a blast to share my thoughts with fellow gamers.

Movies are also a significant part of my world, and I’ve got a soft spot for the cult classic “Hackers.” If you’re a movie buff, you’ll find plenty of engaging discussions on that topic right here on “Confessions of a Computer Geek.”

But my interests aren’t confined to the digital realm. I’m a dad to three beautiful daughters, and they bring immense joy and inspiration to my life. Family is everything to me, and I’m immensely proud to be part of a lineage of service members. My granddad, a World War II U.S. Marine, landed on Iwo Jima in the first assault wave, and my dad, a U.S. Navy Seabee, served in Saigon during the Vietnam War. My niece is currently serving in the U.S. Army, and I wholeheartedly support all the brave men and women who protect our great country. It’s all about God, Family, and Country for me.

I also use my blog as a platform to discuss important issues, whether it’s my personal journey with hemophilia, the effects of the condition on my body, or commentary on social issues that matter to me. My animal companions, Dax the cat, Gizmo the pi-bald ball python, Freyja the bearded dragon, and Hannibal my Shar Pei puppy, will also make appearances, adding a touch of the wild to my life.

So, if you’re in search of a blog that delves deep into the world of geek culture, explores the latest in movies, dissects TV shows, and discusses the gaming universe, with a pinch of personal struggles and family, you’ve come to the right place. Welcome to my realm.
